Both Hank and Emily grew up in the music world from an early age. They live it and love it and believe it brings everyone together.

Hank grew up singing in churches with his family, then later leading different bands in worship, along with singing in solo/choirs in school and college. During his teens, he was the main roadie for his dad's honky-tonk band "Train45", playing all around Texas for decades. His dad taught him piano, bass, guitar, drums, and harmonica. Later, Hank pulled himself out of music to focus on family and career only to later be introduced to his wife Emily who brought him back into the music scene. He fell in love with Emily and fell back in love with music.

Emily grew up very similar, singing in churches early on and in choirs/solos throughout her teens. Her favorite story to tell is her dad playing his Ovation guitar when she was very young and she would fall asleep in the guitar case. Later in her teens, she learned professional guitar and used that knowledge to learn her favorite artist's music - Elton John. She furthered that music with learning tons of the rock and pop she grew up on, playing for churches, volunteering at VFW / Elk's Clubs, and later on in bars and restaurants. She has kept this career path for over 30 years and still enjoys it as much as the day she started, while writing her own music along the way.

Both Hank and Emily, now married, created ThePerkins2, citing it as a "Dueling Duo". Hank brings his love of country and blues and Emily her love of rock and pop. From the 60s/70s all the way through todays' music, they cover a wide array of music and sound, ensuring all who listen have something in their wheelhouse that they can enjoy during each and every gig they play.
